A global leader in Change Management, they had been using a traditional LMS to deliver micro-learning modules and resources. However, the lack of flexibility and personalisation meant it was time to invest in a platform that would allow them to scale, innovate, and deliver a more modern learning experience.
The goal was to replace the existing LMS with a bespoke web platform that provided a modern, accessible, and personalised learning experience for users.
The client is a global leader in Change Management, supporting organisations worldwide with tools, resources, and learning programmes designed to drive effective and lasting change.
The existing LMS limited personalisation, innovation, and scalability.
The client needed a platform that could support rapid content evolution, personalised learning journeys, and modern AI-driven discovery, while remaining robust enough to support a global user base. The MVP also needed to be delivered within a tight 14-week timeframe.
To meet the ambitious delivery timeline, we selected OutSystems as the low-code platform best suited for rapid, scalable development. This allowed us to begin building immediately on a cloud-native architecture, keeping the team focused on delivering the product rather than managing infrastructure.
Working closely with business leaders, subject matter experts, and the product team, we collaborated to brainstorm, prototype, scope, and prioritise requirements. A robust data model was designed, and development was delivered through a series of agile sprints.
One of the core features of the platform was its AI-powered problem search, designed to recommend relevant resources based on a user’s query or situation. To support this, we built a sophisticated metadata mapping engine that allowed content to be accurately tagged and indexed. Extensive testing was carried out to refine the model and validate response accuracy, ensuring it could handle different question types, tones, and communication styles.
The platform was integrated with a generative AI framework, with careful optimisation to ensure fast performance and a high-quality user experience. This was surfaced through a clean, chat-style interface, giving the platform a distinctly modern edge.
The user experience was designed to feel familiar and intuitive, drawing inspiration from well-known content platforms. New users are welcomed with a founder-narrated introduction video explaining the vision behind the platform. Features such as playlists, saved content, reviews, and feedback make it easy to explore, while structured learning paths support guided progression from introductory concepts to more advanced topics.
Trust and authenticity were key considerations. Reviews and feedback are limited to users who have completed content, ensuring meaningful engagement. Each user has a personal journey page, allowing them to track progress, resume content, and easily share impactful resources.
Alongside the user-facing experience, a powerful back-office portal was developed to give the management team full control. This included tools to manage content, administer users, and monitor platform utilisation.
The content management system was designed to support a growing streaming-style platform. Content can be uploaded and scheduled seamlessly, with a comprehensive tagging system ensuring it appears in the right places across the platform.
To understand engagement and continuously improve the offering, real-time dashboards were built to surface key metrics such as live viewers, minutes watched, ratings, reviews, and feedback. Both anonymous and named reviews are supported, allowing the team to respond to feedback and actively manage customer satisfaction.
